About Spring Has Sprung.
Long leaves arch out past the edge of the cake, and every stem comes up through the yellow frosting as if it were soil. Both tiers are stitched with dotted seams. Under the plate, where a stand would be, there’s the other kind of spring: a long gray coil, leaning to the left.
Katty draws every morning, mostly flowers, and this time they took over the cake. For a spring birthday, or a first spring in a new house.
